MEIKO conformity assessment in compliance with EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC

MEIKO performs a conformity assessment in compliance with EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC for all machines and equipment which it supplies to the European market. MEIKO uses its own independent and established conformity assessment process to ensure that the assessment conforms to this Directive. The following key documents are used to ensure this process achieves the required levels of verification and documentation.

The MEIKO conformity assessment process is documented as follows:

  • Results of processing the basic requirements from the Directive
  • List of harmonised standards which apply to the manufacture of the product
  • Analysis of hazards and risks
  • Checking of electrical safety standards as per EN 60335-2-58
  • Test report on electromagnetic compatibility (EN 61000-6-3)
  • Operating instructions
  • Production documents for manufacturing the machine and/or equipment
  • Manufacturer's plate with defined information and integrated CE conformity marking.
  • MEIKO declaration of conformity for the machine/equipment (included as part of the operating instructions)

External safety testing by a German Social Accident Insurance (DGUV) body

MEIKO's series products are subjected to external DGUV safety testing by an authorised body. The content of this national safety assessment corresponds to the requirements of the GS conformity marking. All MEIKO products are manufactured within a QM system certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:ff.  MEIKO's quality assurance programme and manufacturing specifications are reviewed on an annual basis by the authorised DGUV inspection body. The result is documented in a test report. The MEIKO certificate serves as verification of this process.
