Meiko UK has launched a ‘recognition of service’ programme to highlight the contribution of its long serving workers.
Out of 98 employees in total, 36 of Meiko UK’s staff have more than a decade’s experience, clocking up a total of 539 years in December 2017.
“Employees with expertise, commitment and dedication are crucial to the running of a successful business,” says Meiko UK MD Paul Anderson. “Our achievements and industry-leading status are due to the dedication and hard work of our staff.
“It makes sense to recognise them and their continuing contribution. With the introduction of this long service award scheme, Meiko UK is celebrating 36 such employees.”
In 2017, the UK catering industry voted Meiko ‘Supplier of the Year: Service & Support’, topping an unprecedented year of recognition for Meiko’s customer and technical services support.
At the 2017 CEDA Technical Conference, Meiko won CEDA’s technical service engineering members award for Outstanding Technical Support. Earlier in 2017 at its full members conference, CEDA voted Meiko UK the winner of its annual award for Outstanding Customer Service, the sixth time Meiko UK has won the award and the only supplier ever to have done so.
Continues Paul Anderson, “We are saluting the efforts of our staff. Their contribution to Meiko’s positive culture and ‘can-do’ customer services over years of sincere effort has made Meiko a truly unique phenomenon of the UK catering industry.”
Meiko UK Long Service Awards
Meiko UK is honouring three 30-year veterans*; Senior Technical Service Engineers Shaun Crossley and Dave Edmundson and Technical Services Director Dave Kemp.
A further eight staff have served with Meiko UK for 20 years and more, while 25 staff have more than 10 years’ service.
“Meiko is a great employer. From the very beginnings of the company, our ethos has always been to strive for the highest standards of customer service,” says Technical Services Director Dave Kemp.
“The substantial number of Meiko staff receiving long service awards is testament to the company’s dedication to creating sustainable careers and to providing continuing professional development.”
In 2018, Josh Kemp, son of Dave, will complete his three-year apprenticeship and qualify as a Meiko Technical Services Engineer, the first person to have done so and continuing his family’s ongoing relationship with Meiko. Here’s to Josh celebrating his 30 years with us in 2045!
*Meiko UK was launched in 1994, but prior to that Shaun Crossley, Dave Edmundson and Dave Kemp provided the technical services expertise for Meiko UK’s predecessor company, Carron Strands.
