Meiko UK’s extraordinary customer service has been shortlisted for honours in the Supplier of the Year for Service & Support category of the 2021 FEJ (Foodservice Equipment Journal) AWARDS.
“The Supplier of the Year for Service & Support acknowledges that selling a piece of equipment is only the first part of a supplier’s relationship with its customers, which is why so many operators place huge value on the support that a brand can offer them.
“This distinction will go to the supplier judged to provide stand-out support for their product in terms of areas such as warranty provision, after-sales service, spare parts and customer assistance,” says FEJ.
The Award Entry reads: Meiko’s support during Covid came in for rave reviews from customers as it pledged emergency breakdown cover for all hospitals and care homes if existing maintenance providers couldn’t help. The firm, which has a 94% first-time fix rate, extended its warranty offer at the start of the crisis to give under-siege sectors extra peace of mind, while labels were created for customers to demonstrate that wares are hygienically washed. One pub group described Meiko’s support as vital for ensuring equipment was working correctly and safe for staff to use as it prepared to reopen dozens of sites after lockdown. Additionally, the development of a new range of sustainably driven chemicals in conjunction with Ecolab provided the final piece in its dishwash service puzzle.
Winners will be announced at the Commercial Kitchen Show later in September 2021.
